AHNAN TOMARI TE WORLD ORGANIZATION

The Kata found in the “vaults” of Ahnan Tomari Te World Organization were kata that were transmitted via “Oral Tradition” from Kushubi Sensei to Grandmaster A. F. Walker..  According to the Encyclopedia Brittanica, “Oral Tradition” is defined as:  “Oral tradition, also called orality, the first and still most widespread mode of human communication. Far more than “just talking,” oral tradition refers to a dynamic and highly diverse oral-aural medium for evolving, storing, and transmitting knowledge, art, and ideas. It is typically contrasted with literacy with which it can and does interact in myriad ways, and also with literature, which it dwarfs in size, diversity, and social function.”

The Kata contained within the “vaults” of the ATWO were taught “Two eyes to Four” which is one instructor to one student – One on One.  This was to ensure that the information transmitted was passed onto the next generation as faithfully as possible and that no portion was omitted from the transmission.  Due to the content, bunkai, timing, etc., the transmission had to have been extremely aligned with what the teacher had been taught.  Hence, the one to one transmission.

ATWO is geared to pass this knowledge on to the next generation of practitioners and to those who wish to learn them.  We are open to all styles of martial arts who may be interested in learning these forms and preserving them for posterity. You may also look into Ahnan Tomari Te World Organization on Facebook as well as Won Hop Loong Chuan which is also on Facebook. We welcome questions and inquiries from anyone and from anywhere. We are looking for a few good students who are able to learn with an “empty cup”.
